Oracles

Collection Statement

Oracles explores how systems of power shape our identities when we are young. The many limbs of our cultures all offer stories about who we are and who we should become. While some of these influences help us grow, others require us to silence, hide, or abandon parts of ourselves in order to belong.

Through symbolic figurative paintings, the series examines the tension between external expectations and authentic identity. Recurring motifs serve as metaphors for guidance, control, sacrifice, intuition, and transformation. Each painting reflects a different aspect of the human experience, asking how our beliefs are formed, what is lost through conformity, and whether the parts of ourselves left behind can be reclaimed.

At its heart, Oracles is a reflection on identity, self-discovery, and the possibility of returning to something essential beneath the voices that seek to define us.
